Style: UK Hardcore, Gabber, Old Skool & Hardstyle
John Wright aka DJ JFX began
his career as a raver at the tender age of 14 going to the Tunnel under 18 events
in Glasgow and the massive Heaven Raves at the Motherwell civic centre where
he saw DJs like Paul Elstack and Marc Smith play in front of hundreds of people,
then when a bit older started attending even bigger events like the legendary
Rezerection's at the Royal Highland Showground in Edinburgh and Helter Skelter's
in Milton Keynes, were the crowds where up to 10,000 people.
After a couple of years raving John decided that being a raver was not enough
and wanted to be a DJ like the guys he looked up to, dj's like Scott Brown,
Marc Smith, Hixxy, Lenny Dee & Paul Elstak. A few years later and he sold
his belt drive starter decks and bought a set of Technics and got serious about
wanting to play in clubs/Raves.......back then he was mainly playing Gabber
and his first break-through came in 2000 when asked to play at Digital Discharge
in Falkirk and was asked back many times. Since then JFX is now Resident at
Scotlands No.1 Hardcore Night Twisted & Brainfire and has been booked to
play at various clubs over the UK including Resistance, Species, Odyssey, Do-nation
and is now mainly playing upfront Uk Hardcore.
In 2004 John has also started
producing music. So far he has done well with several records signed to labels
like DJ SY's legendary Quosh Records, Definitive Dance, Thin N Crispy, Underground
and more on the way. He has also had his tracks featured on Hardcore Heaven
and Hardcore Re-united compilation albums among others.
